Insight webmail is an email that is rooted from Insight Communications, an American multiple system operator founded in 1985. The company serves some states include Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. Insight was the ninth largest cable operator in the United States with its subscribers reached 760,000 until it was purchased by Time Warner Cable in 2011. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, the company offers some products like cablecasting, boardband internet and phone.

Time Warner Cable purchased Insight Communications on August 13, 2011 for $3 billion. Insight required high revenues from Time Warner Cable’s acquisition completion although Time Warner Cable expected to have 10-12% lower capital requirements of revenues since Insight Communications had conversion on its television services from analog to digital. The amount of revenues aforementioned was the subject to approval by the Federal Communication Commission along with Insight franchises.

On February 29, 2012 the merger was completed and formally Time Warner Cable replaced Insight Communications. To announce it to Insight customers, Time Warner Cable sent letters to them informing that starting in June 2013 they would replace Insight Communications. The problem arrived when Insight customers need to use their email with their ‘new master’ so Time Warner Cable returned Insight Webmail Service back to their customers in 2014. Customers still can use their Insight email to access Time Warner Cable’s webmail service.

The Time Warne Cable’s acquisition gave them additional 760,000 customers in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio including Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green and Columbus, Ohio. Moreover, Mary Jo Green, the spokeswoman from Time Warner Cable said that they have not established a time frame yet for any programming, service or price changes. They needed to learn more about the network and local operations from Insight Communications. They will learn everything to satisfy their customers and the previous-Insight –Communications customers.
