It was established in 1890 and formerly it was known as Post College that was affiliated with Teikyo University in Tokyo, Japan from 1990 to 2004. At that time, the university offered three kinds of courses; day, evening and online courses. The university also has three satellite centers located in Meriden, Danbury, and Wallington. The current president of this university is Dr. Donald W. Mroz.
