STC Blackboard -South Texas College is a public community college that’s located in the Rio South Texas Region. The college is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The degrees accredited by the commission are Bachelor of Applied Technology, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. There are six campuses owned by STC and there are around 31,000 students enrolled in this college and 1,600 employees working across the six campuses. The area served by South Texas College includes all of Hidalgo and Starr Counties.

As aforementioned, stc blackboard has six campuses to accommodate many students. They are Pecan Campus as the main campus located in McAllen, Texas; Mid-Valley Campus in Weslaco, Texas; Starr County Campus in Rio Grande City, Texas; Technology Campus in McAllen, Texas; Ramiro R. Casso Nursing & Allied Health Campus in McAllen, Texas; and E-STC Virtual Campus or known as an online campus. Moreover, STC hires board of trustees that are responsible to manage the seven districts of STC. There are also executive staffs who govern the college until it becomes a big college like what we know today.
STC Blackboard employs 428 full-time and 228 adjunct instructors. Moreover, there are 384 faculty members with master’s degrees, 46 hold double master’s, five hold triple master’s and 79 have doctorate degrees. Then, there are 97 faculty members who have bachelor degrees and 44 with associate degrees. STC offers a Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) degree in Technology Management and a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Computer and Information Technologies. In addition, the college provides dual enrollment opportunities that allow eligible students to take college courses while attending high school. Currently, there are 11,000 students enrolling this program. Two intensive academic programs are also offered for students interested in pursuing degrees in the medical and engineering fields.
